So two of my last entries have been about injuries that left marks on my face. The burn is on my chin, and although I got it on Thursday, it wasn't really visible until today. It is a nice shade of dark pink making a rather interesting looking mark. My injury from a while ago was a cut on my eye lid (which, by the way, I still have a scar from). My observation after my experiences with both of these injuries is that very few people ask what happened. This could be for a few reasons.

1. They want to be polite by not bringing it up first.

2. They don't notice at all. And since both marks are rather prominent, this means people are not very observational.

3. They notice but couldn't care less.

Im thinking it's number 2.

I got my classes for next fall and they are all theatre related. Good for me. I have Acting 101, Lighting 121, Intro to Playwriting, and Theatre History 11 (classical).

I went to work today. Which is good. Worked with 2 lighting grad students, meaning they could possibly be my TA's for Lighting 121. But I also burnt myself while focusing lights. The main burn is on my chin. Yes, on my face. From a fresnel. A very hot one. Not that I'm incompetent or anything, but there were lots of lights in one area and I was trying to maneuver to turn the light. It hurt. But I sucked it up and finished the rest of the first electric. And I complain to you now, instead of to the people at work.

All you people that have already finished with, or are finishing up with, school suck. And don't give me any of that "but we started first" crap. Whatever. I have a month left. I wouldn't care so much if I didn't have 2 papers to worry about since they make up 80% of one of my grades. Also, I'm really excited about being a councelor at Camp Bravo and I get to go to a staff meeting for that a couple days after I return.

And speaking of such, I return on the night of June 10th.

And to follow up on my last post, I am now in a show and it will be on June 4th and 5th.

In further news, I am a bigger fan of livejournal than I am of xanga. So I may have to back up Phiney on her post from a while ago that encouraged all of you to switch.

I can't think of anything else of which to type about. Except maybe that I've gotten re-addicted to ebay. Not to worry though, I've been outbid on everything so far and I am generally too cheap to get into too much financial trouble with ebay.

I just got back from an audition. I haven't been in a show in a very long time and I really miss it. And this show looks really fun. It's called "Club" and is, as the title indicates, about a dance club. They are going to turn one of our theatre/dance studios into a full-on club with lights and a dj station and everything.
What's the problem here, you ask? Well, if you know me, you know that I tend to take on too much at one time. I'm not a flaky person, and I generally stick to what I'm committed to, but with a schedule this full I'm going to be spreading myself fairly thin. The rehearsals will be for the next month, just about every night. They said they could be flexible with the rehearsals, but I know that I'm still going to have to limit everything else I'm involved in. For example, Foosh. I love Foosh. They are a big part of what I do here on campus. But with rehearsals, I'll probably have to miss most of the practices. And since I don't really see most of the people outside of Foosh, I won't see any of them. And with all the rehearsals, I'll have to spend most of my free time writing papers, therefore eliminating any social time I could have had with them, or anyone else.
Which brings me to another up and two more downs of being in the show. The up: I'll be working with new people, which is a social thing in and of itself. Down #1: I'm going to have to work extra hard to keep up with my classes. Which means no sleep and me going crazy.
The second down side gets it's own paragraph. And this is my job. I actually like my job. It's great experience and money is awesome. And I just got promoted, which equals more responsibility and money. But with the show, I won't have much time for work. But I'll make the time. And therefore get further behind in sleep and classes.
People often see majoring in theatre as an easy path through college. This it most certainly is not. It's just as intense, but in a very different way.

I look like I've been beaten up.

And I blame YOU MEG.

See, we had our bowling league tonight. And our team is me, Meg, and John. And we yell stuff at each other like "You suck!", "You're off the team!", and "Die!". So, during our third and last game we decided that we needed some team spirit. And that this should be accomplished by a three-way high five. The first attempt didn't work and for our second attempt we though we should jump at the same time. We went up, and I went down. After rolling around and laughing for a long time, we realized that I was bleeding. The only explanation we could come up with was that Meg hit my own hand into my face, because I have long nails and she doesnt. And now I have a lovely bloody cut below my eyebrow, and right above my eyelid.

That plus my nasty bruise thing from giving blood makes me look beaten up. And I point the blame at Meg. Curse you. You're now off the team and on team number 11.
